Your Google listing

Photolife Studios (South Island) shows healthy presence on Google, with a 6.3/10 health score indicating above-average listing completeness. Key strengths include a claimed listing, a website link, open-for-business status, a listing title, and a visible phone number. The top opportunities focus on expanding the listing description and growing the photo gallery to climb above the bottom quartiles.

Strengths

  • ✓
Open statusYour listing shows the business as trading, so customers see accurate availability and Google treats the listing as live.
  • ✓
ClaimedYour listing is claimed, so you control what it says, you can reply to reviews, and edits suggested by the public come to you first.
  • ✓
NameYour business name is showing on the listing, so a customer searching for you by name finds you, and everything else on the listing hangs off it.

Top three opportunities

  • 1
Description lengthYour description is far shorter than what most businesses here have written, which means a customer comparing listings gets a line from you and three paragraphs from the business beside you.
  • 2
Photos on the listingYou have fewer photos than nearly every business here, so a customer comparing you against them builds a picture of their work and guesses at yours.
  • 3
Category fitYour category set covers less of this market than half the field, so there are jobs being searched for near you that your listing is not eligible to appear in.

Top three opportunities

Review confidenceRating and review volume together sit well behind this market, which means a customer comparing you has both halves of the picture reading thin.
  • 2
Star ratingYour rating sits well below what customers here are used to seeing, and it is the first number they compare when two businesses look otherwise equal.
  • 3

Why can't you combine photos and ID? Not happy having to pay postage for an item, when you are sending photos anyway.

Hi Jo, we are able to. Did you combine your order online?

Expensive school photos if you have more than one child. Would be nice to have payment options (ie Afterpay etc) to help people out. ***edited 1 year later- prices have gone up and still no different payment options. Looks like feedback...

Response from the owner

Hi Paula, thank you for your feedback. We will review our options :)

Where customers find you

Photolife Studios (South Island) shows a health score of 6.0 out of 10, indicating above-average presence with room for improvement. The most notable findings are a very high-trust Facebook profile and a Yellow Directory listing supporting local visibility, while the Instagram presence already has high trust. A TikTok presence is missing, representing a key growth opportunity.

Strengths

  • ✓
Having a Facebook page at allWe found your Facebook Profile page, and the trail is strong enough that nobody would question it is yours - it is linked from something you own, or it dominates a search for your name.
  • ✓

Your Facebook page

Strengths

  • ✓
Where your page link pointsThe link on your page goes to a domain that is yours, so a visitor who came for the photos leaves on your terms and the enquiry lands in your inbox rather than someone else's.
  • ✓
A page address you choseThe address on your page carries your business name, so a customer told about you at a barbecue can find the page by typing what they heard.
  • ✓
A phone numberA phone number shows on your page, so the person who found you on Facebook before they found your website can ring straight from it.

Top three opportunities

  • 1
People following your pageFewer people follow your page than follow half the pages here.
  • 2
A street addressYour page publishes no street address, so someone deciding whether you are near enough to bother with has nothing to check and moves on to a page that tells them.
  • 3
What your page says about youYour intro carries more detail than most pages in this market and is doing the work of a short landing page for the visitors who never reach your website.

Your website

Photolife Studios (South Island) shows a moderate overall on-page SEO health, with room for improvement in metadata and loading speed. The strongest findings include a valid favicon, an SEO-friendly URL, a proper H1 tag, and a well-aligned title tag, which support clear relevance and branding. Key opportunities focus on creating a meta description, improving page speed, and refining text-to-page size balance.

Strengths

  • ✓
Separate sites linking to youMore separate websites link to you than almost any business in this market - a spread built over years that a competitor cannot buy their way into.
  • ✓
The shape of your link profileYour links come from about as wide a range of sites as anything in this market, and the mix of link types looks entirely natural.
  • ✓
Domain UniquenessYour web address is yours alone, so everything your site earns - links, mentions, search standing - accumulates under your name and stays with the business.

Top three opportunities

  • 1
Meta descriptionYour pages carry no summary line of your own, so the two lines under your name in search results are whatever Google decides best fits the search.
  • 2
On-page scoreSeveral checks on your home page fail at once, and a visitor meets all of them in the first few seconds: a slow open, no clear heading, nothing under your name in search that says what you do.
  • 3
Page titleThe headline on your home page is either a single word or long enough that a search result cuts it off part way through.

How people find you on Google

Photolife Studios (South Island) shows very strong website traffic health with a 9.8/10. The business benefits from high organic traffic value and top local rankings, indicating solid SEO and user engagement. The main opportunity lies in initiating paid traffic campaigns to capture potential customers and diversify lead sources while maintaining current organic strengths.

Strengths

  • ✓
What that traffic is worthThe search visitors reaching your site are worth more than almost any business in this market - an enquiry stream with no cost per click behind it.
  • ✓
Monthly search visitsYour site draws more visitors from search than almost any business in this market - a stream of enquiries arriving at no cost per visit.
  • ✓
Search terms you rank forYour site appears for more search terms than almost any business in this market, so there are more ways to find you than to find anyone else here.

Top three opportunities

  • 1
What you spend on adsWe can see no paid search activity for your site, which in most local markets is the norm rather than a gap.
  • 2
Monthly ad visitsYour site receives no visitors from paid search, which for most local businesses in this market is the norm rather than a problem.
  • 3
