Hair salons and barbers Businesses in Harewood-christchurch-airport, Christchurch, NZ

Harewood and the Christchurch Airport fringe have a practical, in-and-out rhythm. Between local households and the steady flow of travellers and crew, hair salons and barbers here tend to suit people who need appointments that fit around shifts, flights, and school runs.

You will notice the area's airport feel in small ways, from the mix of accents in waiting areas to the control tower sitting out on the flat Canterbury Plains. It is the sort of suburb where errands are easy, so a cut can sit alongside a supermarket run before heading north.

Marketbase insights point to a compact local scene, with one standout name often mentioned, Astonish Hair and Beauty. Overall customer feedback averages about 4.6 out of 5, backed by deep review histories, which suggests many regulars rather than one-off visits.

Across the category, people commonly look for professional, friendly service, a comfortable interior, and a broad menu that can include colour and smoothing treatments as well as barbering. The main watch-outs are the usual ones in busy salons: occasional disappointment with results or last-minute cancellations, so clear consultations and confirming bookings help.
