Inside Marketbase there are three things worth knowing your way around: your roadmap, your Business Overview, and the reports behind it. The roadmap says what to do. The overview and the reports show why.
This is a quick orientation, so nothing feels unfamiliar the first time you sign in.

The menu on the left
Business Health holds your Business Overview, then one report for each place a customer meets you:
| Report | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Google Business Listing | Does your Google listing look complete and trustworthy next to the others? |
| Reviews | How many reviews, how good, how recent, and do you reply? |
| Maps Strength | Which suburbs do you show up in when people search the map? |
| Citations | Where else are you listed around the web, and are those listings yours? |
| Can people find your page, and does it look cared for? | |
| Website Health | Your address, your pages, the other sites that link to yours and your traffic, read together |
| Open Times | Are you open when people in your market are looking? |
Google Result Positions shows where you come up in Google for the searches that matter in your trade.
Below that sit three more. Business Roadmap is your plan. Competition lets you pick up to six businesses and see them side by side, with how their rank has moved over time. Plans is where your subscription lives.
Your Business Overview
This is the page you land on. It opens on your three numbers: Health out of 10, your Market Rank, and your Progress, with your rank in your suburb and your health over time beside them. A short written summary says where you stand in plain words.
Next comes the 360 Marketing Check, one row per area. Each row shows that area's health, how far up your market's ladder you sit, a short summary and a door to the full report. If your Google listing is not claimed, or your listing has no website on it, the row says so in red.
At the bottom is the Market Explorer: every business in your market, ranked, with a map beside the list. Open any competitor's row to see their overview.
How every report reads
The reports all follow the same order, so once you have read one you can read them all. They open with where you stand on that area, then show your own business the way a customer meets it, such as your listing as Google shows it. After that comes the same thing set against your market, then the whole market.
Each thing we measure carries a small coloured flame, red through to green, or grey where it has not been checked yet. Hover over it for what it means for you, or click through to the detail page, which has the steps to sort it and an offer to handle it for you.
Picture this
An illustration, not a real business. A plumber in Christchurch opens his overview and sees the reviews row sitting well below the rest.
He opens the reviews report and finds most of his reviews have no reply. Back on his roadmap, replying to reviews is already his second priority, with the steps written out. He does it that evening and ticks it off.
Your roadmap
The roadmap is the page to come back to. It gives you up to five priorities, in order, each with why it matters for you, the tasks to tick and a rough idea of the time it takes. It also names your strengths: the things you do well that most businesses near you do not.
Ticking a task records what you did. Your numbers move when the next check of your market finds the change, about once a month. Then press Refresh Roadmap, and the new one opens with what changed since the last.
Tip
Start with the roadmap, not the reports. The reports are there when you want the detail. The roadmap already picked the order for you.

Everything connects
The overview shows where you stand, the reports show why, and the roadmap turns it into the next few jobs. How Marketbase Scores Work explains the three numbers, and Tracking Your Progress covers what moves them.
Any of those jobs you would rather not do, hand to us. Sort it yourself, or we'll do it for you.
